Hi! I’m Danielle Abigail, your resident decluttering junkie and creator of the Why I Declutter project (as in, creating that project!).
Fun Facts?

- My little buddy has Down Syndrome, and Autism. And apraxia.
- I LOVE to read (especially audiobooks), particularly romance and romantasy. Yes, I love Rhysand. I’m a stereotype. #iykyk
- The ocean is my happy place.
- My favorite colors are yellow and orange. And blue. I also like green.
- ^I can be a bit indecisive.^
Why I Declutter
I’ve never been naturally tidy, and I’ve never been a minimalist, so I have a long, mostly unhappy, history with clutter.
Add in mental health struggles (depression, anxiety), physical health struggles (who knew just how bad and chronic plantar fasciitis could turn out to be), ADHD, a family, real life….
It’s not always pretty around here.
I’m creating Why I Declutter, because I believe that change doesn’t happen unless we truly want it to happen – and that sometimes we’re not even sure what we’re trying to achieve.
“More peace,” “more space,” “more authenticity” – the decluttering world throws these terms out like candy in a parade, but what does that really mean? On an everyday basis?
Real life examples of decluttering motivation and success, plus proof that you are not alone – that’s what I want you to find here!
Follow Why I Declutter on this site, but you can also follow on a variety of social media – full list here.
