Lawyer’s might call it Term and Conditions.

I like to just call it:

The Coaching Agreement

Here’s the bottom line – if we both try to always assume the best intentions of each other, you are going to make progress soooo much faster.  And we’re going to be happier.  The world will be a kinder place.  I mean, we might be the butterfly that flaps its wings and changes the weather right here!!!

At the very least – we can be kind to each other.  (Except if I’m giving you tough love, obviously; because it’s meant with utter kindness!)

Still, because the lawyers in my life insist on it….

The Coaching Agreement. 

The goal of this agreement is to make clear what you can expect from me and this coaching process; the technical details about payments, refunds, etc.; and also, to illustrate your responsibility in achieving your decluttering goals in this process.

And so…

INTRODUCTION:

This document is to establish that I, Danie Smallwood, owner of The Decluttering Corner (hereafter “TDC”), will be providing Decluttering Coaching services to you, the Client, pursuant to the following terms.  Coaching services range from the discussion of mindset shifts and how habits are formed, to strategizing what other services would help supplement our work, to cheering for even the smallest of victories, to sitting with you while you deal with emotionally charged items, to brainstorming the next steps or even decluttering live with you over Zoom.  In other words – our discussions will be defined by what we determine to be the next right step.

I expect that if at any point the services are not meeting your expectations or needs, you will let me know so that we can adjust the course.  Remaining silent helps neither of us.

Please know that what you achieve as a result of this coaching is largely a product of the work you are able to put in.  I can be there to cheer you on, to break it down, answer questions – but I can’t do the inner work you’ll need to do to bring out big change.

PACKAGE DETAILS:

Duration:  This package is for one month of coaching services, as described in this section.  For these purposes, “one month” is defined as 30 days.  The 30 days begins the day you book this package.  

Zoom Coaching Sessions:  Your package includes one live, one-on-one coaching session, over Zoom.  When you book your package, you receive an email confirmation; this contains the link to book your live coaching session.  Ideally, book it as early as possible in the month, especially in your first month, so that we can create our initial plan that we will enact and adapt over text  The Zoom Coaching Session must take place within the 30 days of the package; Zoom sessions do not roll-over when you renew your package.  There is no obligation to use this live coaching; however if you do, you should be prepared to be on camera, but there is no requirement to show any part of your home before you are ready.

Asynchronous Daily Text Support:  You are welcome and encouraged to contact me daily by text or via Facebook Messenger.  If I don’t hear from you for several days, I will initiate contact.  This is meant not to be annoying, but rather to support habit growth and maintain momentum; activities engaged in daily, even for short periods, are more likely to become habits, and habits are your best friend if you have ADHD.  

Payments:  The total monthly package price of US$249.00 is due before commencing services.  It will be collected when you book this package through thedeclutteringcorner.as.me.

Disclaimer:  While I will help you think through decisions, I cannot make final decisions for you.  Anything you choose to move, discard, donate, etc. is not the responsibility of me or TDC.

AT THE END OF THE MONTH:

Renewal:  I encourage you to plan to repeat this package monthly for a minimum of three months.  Mindset changes can take a lot of time, and I want you to build habits that will not only help you get your house uncluttered to the point you dream of, but also to have the skills and self-confidence to maintain that change.  There is, however, no requirement to renew.  

Unused sessions, etc:  At the end of the one-month period, any Zoom sessions that have not used will expire, not subject to refund, and text/Facebook support will be discontinued at that time if the package is not renewed.  

Outcome:  In reality, there is no guarantee of a specific outcome in your home during this period.  The decluttering process takes the time it takes, and depends on many factors, including the amount of clutter when we begin, the level of emotional attachment you have to items in your home, the time you have available to spend decluttering, and the number of preexisting strategies to handle your ADHD, just to name a few.  I believe in my work, however, and am entering into this Coaching relationship with every good faith intention of helping you meet your goals.  To do so will also require you to be open to new ideas, curious when things don’t succeed (rather than self-recriminating!), and honest with yourself.  You are capable of doing this work, and you are absolutely worthy of the results you can achieve!!!

FURTHER DETAILS:

Confidentiality:  I will make every effort to keep information from our sessions completely confidential.  However, in signing this agreement, you are acknowledging that technology is only as secure as a decent hacker, and you are agreeing not to hold TDC or Danie Smallwood responsible if information is stolen despite good faith efforts to protect it.

Session Cancellation Policy:  When you book an appointment, I’ve reserved that time for you.  It’s time I’m making available to another client, or to anyone else who needs me.  In order to respect all involved, all cancellations must be made either through the Acuity Scheduling website (there is a link in your confirmation email to cancel), or be received by email to thedeclutteringcorner@gmail.com; in either form, cancellation must take place no less than 48 hours before the scheduled day/time.  Within 48 hours of the appointment, the appointment will count as your Zoom session for the month, and is not eligible for refund or rescheduling.  

Refunds: I offer refunds only if we never exchange messages or schedule a zoom; in such a case, refunds must be requested within the first 7 days after booking.  Once we have begun work, or passed day 7, I cannot offer a refund; but there is never an obligation to renew your coaching at the end of the month.

This document is meant to be in good faith, not to cover every single contingency or situation.
