Life is strange sometimes.
I mean – you are an incredibly competent, talented person in so many parts of your life, right? (Seriously – even if you don’t dare admit it to yourself – you’ve got talent.)
And since you’re so talented, maybe you’re wondering – perhaps in shame or shock or despair – why in hell it’s so hard for you to do something that others find so simple?
I mean, why is it so hard to just get the house decluttered already?
Why is the place that should be your haven, your respite, your place to sit and think and relax and create and just be – why is that place less of a refuge than a battleground?
What if change – real change, sustainable change – is possible? You just need a guide who has been there, who gets it?

Yes, there are many talented professional organizers and declutterers out there. And often for them, it’s just easy. It’s natural. It’s even fun. And they can’t imagine what it’s like to be surrounded by piles and piles upon piles, paralyzed by the all the decisions ahead of you. They simply don’t know how helpless it makes you feel. They can’t understand the shame, the frustration, and the loss.
“Just put it away when you finish with it.”
Oh yes, excellent point, why did we never think of that?!
“Create a command center in your kitchen.” “Make a home binder.” “Buy this shelving unit.” “Only have as many towels as people.” “One in, one out.”
So much advice. Some of it is even excellent advice.
But when we’ve dealt with chronic clutter for years, maybe even our whole lives – we don’t have the skills to implement that advice yet. There’s a whole process that comes first, of understanding why you want to declutter, of building new habits and systems.

One of my clients told me recently, “Can it actually really be this easy?”
Yes, when you get systems in place, it really can.
And together we will figure out how you, too, can go from overwhelmed to “I never knew decluttering could be this easy.”

No one should ever have to go through life feeling worthless and ashamed because they don’t know yet how to get clutter under control.
No one should ever feel as helpless against clutter as I did for most of my adult life.
It doesn’t always start easy, but sometimes we just have to choose change, because if we don’t – we’re choosing to stay exactly as we are.
Are you ready for change? Ready to walk through your front door and breathe a sigh of relief because you’re home?

Amazing human, don’t wait. I know there always seems to be something more important – but if clutter is hurting you, give yourself the gift of decluttering. Think of how much easier your life will be, how much more creative you can be, how spontaneous, how relaxed, how much more energy you’ll have to give back to other people when your home is giving back to you, instead of always seeming to take, take, take.
